TIMS runs several different workshops throughout the year covering a variety of topics.
|Stress Management:||13 April - Toowoomba Outer Districts|
|3 May - Dalby|
The Event Management Mentoring workshops are funded by Cultural Diversity Queensland as part of their community capacity building program. Members from 12 community groups (Nepalese, Japanese, Indonesian, Filipino, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Indian, Korean, Malaysian, French, TIMS, TRC and Carers Qld) attended the TIMS Event Management Mentoring Workshop to learn about business planning, marketing events, avoiding volunteer burnout and creating sustaining events. The workshop is part of the community capacity building program funded by Cultural Diversity Queensland. Presenter Frances Holmes of FHEM has over 25 years of event management experience and was part of the first team to run the Toowoomba Languages & Cultures Festival.
Thanks to a grant from the Community Benefits Gambling Fund for providing the funds for the equipment. TIMS held the first video workshop in March 2014, in partnership with ABC Open. Run by ABC Open Producer Ben Tupas, members had an enjoyable and informative time with broadcast quality clips being produced.
The Stress Management Workshops are funded by the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR) to build resilience and wellness in rural areas of Dalby, Gatton and the outer districts of Toowoomba. The workshops are run by Health & Wellness expert Daphne Fung who has over 10 years experience in the field.
